Tales of Bo Jackson’s athletic exploits leave those who hadn’t witnessed them wondering whether they’re real. His greatness almost seemed mythical, as the product of Bessemer (AL), also the birthplace of legendary rapper Gucci Mane, strapped up cleats and authored legendary moment after moment on the gridiron and diamond. A multi-sport athlete and culture phenomenon in his own right, Jackson won the Heisman Trophy in a sport he called a “hobby,” earned a second-round selection in the MLB Draft, became the top pick in an NFL Draft and still stands as the only athlete in the history of professional sports to make All-Star Games in two major sports. Jackson’s trading cards capture a legendary sports career that featured 141 homers,18 total touchdowns, and enough honors to fill up a museum. So let’s salute a legend and celebrate the best of Bo Jackson’s Rookie Cards & More.

5:  1988 Topps Football #327 Bo Jackson RC

Topps claims Jackson’s only football RC, the 1988 Topps Football #327 Bo Jackson. By no means is this a hard card to find. But it’s history. The Raiders running back rushed for over 2,000 yards, made a Pro Bowl, and became the first player in NFL history with multiple touchdown runs of at least 90 yards. Unfortunately, a hip injury cut what could’ve been a Hall of Fame career short, but Jackson will always be remembered for a running style comparable to a super-charged F-250.

4: 1987 Classic MLB Game #15 Bo Jackson

Fun fact: The 1987 Classic #15 Bo Jackson spawned as part of the Classic board game. And boy, collectors and fans had a dilemma. While some used the card to play the game, others tried to preserve its condition. Neither choice hurt, but a pristine card capturing Bo’s two-sport prowess is rare. Supposedly, the value of this bad boy continues to climb throughout the years.

Other parallels of this card have higher print runs, but this red joint is one of one. Salute to two cultural icons.
