Angels Star gets 2009 Bowman Chrome Auto
As an avid collector, Mike Trout has pulled some big cards over the years.
But what the Los Angeles Angels star recently pulled and who he pulled it with is a moment he will cherish forever.
Trout — currently on the disabled list, recovering from a torn meniscus — bought a sealed box of 2009 Bowman Draft Picks & Prospects to rip with his 4-year-old son, Beckham. The Bowman product features Trout’s 1st Bowman card; his Chrome auto is available in numbered and unnumbered versions. There is a guarantee of one Bowman Chrome Autographed Prospect card in every box.
Trout went chasing his rookie as his son looked on. Documenting the moment on video and later posting it on his Instagram account, Trout asks his son before ripping the packs: “What are we trying, dude? What are we trying to get?”
His son responds, “Mike Trout. … And we gotta get you, Daddy. Have to, Dad.”
Four cards into a pack, Trout got excited. “No way, dude. No way. No way. Oh my gosh, dude. Let’s go. Bro, we just pulled a monster.”
Trout shows off his pack-fresh Trout rookie auto — a card he signed 15 years ago as an 18-year-old.
Trout posted the video on Instagram and described his excitement. “Can’t believe this just happened! Decided to pick up some 2009 Bowman Draft boxes to chase my rookie card with my son. There’s no better feeling than getting the little man into the card game at a young age, and pulling my own card with him made it more special 🙌🏻.”
