In the long and storied history of the astonishingly successful Pittsburgh franchise, 29 of the players who donned the black and gold have been named to the Hall of Fame. And even though Hines Ward has yet to have his bust placed in the hallowed halls of Canton, Ohio, his name will forever be spoken in reverence amongst some of the grittiest football fans in the NFL – a fanbase that demands only the best and most rugged players to step onto Heinz Field. And should Ben Roethlisberger ever make the Hall, the first person he will acknowledge is his no.1 receiver Hines Ward.

Known as one of the toughest wide receivers if not overall players of his era, Ward could do it all – return kicks, take the ball on end-around handoffs, and especially block – not to mention his 1,000 receptions and over 12,000 reception yards – all while missing an ACL in one of his knees since he was a child. It’s enough to make you shake your head. What was Hines Ward made of?

Wave your Terrible Towel while you check out but a few of the Hines Ward cards you should collect.
