Since 2016, the Garbage Pail Kids have been letting the air out of all the pomp and circumstance of The Academy Awards. Hollywood’s biggest night is the perfect combination of celebrity exposure and big cultural event that is tailored made for GPK parodying. During the past seven years, A-listers from Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Lady Gaga, to Tom Cruise have received the Garbage Pail treatment.

This year is no different. For the next week, the Garbage Pail Kids: Not-Scars 2023 will be available here, featuring send-ups of Oscar-hopefuls Top Gun: Maverick, Avatar: The Way of Water, Elvis, Everything Everywhere All At Once, and Blonde.

Let’s take a closer look at this year’s GPK Not-Scars set.

Garbage Pail Kids The Not-Scars 2023

SICK MAVERICK, Garbage Pail Kids: Not-Scars 2023

Tom Cruise returned to the Danger Zone after more than 30 years. What better way to commemorate the return of Maverick, Ice Man, and Kenny Loggins, than with a GPK sticker card? Tom Cruise is famous for performing his own stunts and famously piloting fighter jets – Sick Maverick could be an accurate depiction of Cruise’s time in the cockpit.

Top Gun: Maverick was nominated for a total of five Academy Awards, including Best Picture.

ELEVATED ELVIS, Garbage Pail Kids: Not-Scars 2023

Baz Luhrmann’s latest spectacle, Elvis, has been nominated for eight Academy Awards – including Best Picture and Best Actor. And GPK nails the tortured relationship between the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll and his manager, Colonel Tom Parker. Is someone pulling Austin Butler’s strings, and is that why he’s changed his voice? Inquiring minds want to know.

AVA-TAR, Garbage Pail Kids: Not-Scars 2023

James Cameron and his Nav’i pals returned after a 13-year hiatus with Avatar: The Way of Water. According to fans and critics alike, it was the worth wait. Nabbing four Oscar Noms, including Best Picture, let’s hope we don’t have to wait 13 years between each of the reported six sequels.

OSCAR WIENER, Garbage Pail Kids: Not-Scars 2023

Michelle Yeoh and company seem to be everywhere all at once this awards season. A24’s Everything Everywhere All At Once has emerged as this year’s Oscars frontrunner to potentially sweep the awards. Grab a plate of hotdogs and donuts, and tune the Acadamy Awards to see how many statues this movie takes home.

AILING ANA, Garbage Pail Kids: Not-Scars 2023

The story of Marilyn Monroe’s life is explored by the Oscar-nominated movie Blonde. Ana de Armas scores a nomination for best actress with her portrayal of the blonde bombshell. Even if Ana de Armas doesn’t win for her performance, she’ll always be a winner, thanks to GPK.

Make sure and grab your Garbage Pail Kids: Not-Scars 2023 set between now and March 16.
