Top Lou Gehrig Cards
1929-1930 Exhibits Four-On-One Mark Koenig, Babe Ruth, Leo Durocher, Lou Gehrig
“The Babe” and “The Iron Horse” on one card. Need we say more? This is a classic.
1936 Wheaties Lou Gehrig
Did you know Lou Gehrig was the first athlete to try Wheaties cereal? We’re actually kidding and can’t confirm that, but we can confirm that he was the first athlete to grace the front of a Wheaties box (1934). With that said, on the back of some Wheaties boxes from 1935-36 were Gehrig cards that buyers could hand-cut out. The cards probably came out funny-looking, but it was a cool idea.
1925 Exhibits Lou Gehrig
Some believe the 1925 Exhibits Lou Gehrig is a true rookie card, and we’re inclined to agree. In 1925, Gehrig topped 100 games for the first time and totaled 20 homers. In the two previous campaigns, he only played a combined a 23 games. That’s quite the case for this being a rookie card.
1933 DeLong #7 Lou Gehrig
The 1933 DeLong #7 Lou Gehrig is as rare as Mr. Clean with hair. It’s also extremely colorful and features a bigger-than-life sized Gehrig standing over the competition. The 1933 DeLong set was one of the first sets to come with a pack of chewing gum, making the conception of this bad boy even more legendary. Landing this card takes a deep reach into the pockets and a lot of luck, but Happy Hunting!
1933 Goudey #92 Lou Gehrig RC
The 1933 Goudey set featured two Lou Gehrig cards, with both considered rookies. That fact alone drives up its price. We’re talking about a six-figure card that has the potential to rise well into the seven figures.
