The Royal Rumble is always a fan favorite event in WWE, and this year’s PLE in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was no exception. The event delivered surprise appearances, climactic showdowns, and one legend getting retired in the ring.

With no further ado, let’s get to the rundown in 3…

The 2026 Royal Rumble: Riyadh brought clash of the biggest Superstars in WWE. Check out the biggest moments chronicled by Topps NOW, from Gunther vs. AJ Styles, to Roman Reigns and Liv Morgan’s big wins, and more.

A Rumble for the Ages

The night kicked off with the Women’s Royal Rumble. Besties Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss started out at 1 and 2 and quickly decided to team up for as long as they could. Unfortunately for Alexa, it ended a little earlier than she would have liked after being accidentally eliminated by Charlotte. That’s sure not to cause any problems down the road…

The biggest surprise of the Women’s Rumble had to be the #29 entry, returning Hall of Famer Brie Bella. While she went Brie Mode and tossed Lyra Valkyria over the ropes, her and her sister’s time was limited, as up-and-comer Lash Legend tossed them both back-to-back, giving her 5 eliminations — the most from a woman this year.

But it’s the woman who entered at #14, lasting almost 44 minutes, who went on to win the whole thing. Liv Morgan has finally claimed a Royal Rumble for the first time in her career and will face the champion of her choice in the main event of WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas.

She had to step on quite a few toes to get there, including her own Judgement Day teammate Raquel Rodriguez, who was, unsurprisingly, displeased when Liv dumped her over the top rope as she eliminated Rhea Ripley.

Next on the night’s card was AJ Styles defending his very career against the self-proclaimed “Career Killer,” Gunther. The Ring General took control early and put Styles through the announcer’s table. But the Phenomenal One fought back valiantly, locking in a Calf Crusher on the Austrian brute, aware of Gunther’s weakness against submission holds.

After a big 450 Splash and a Styles Clash, AJ could only get a two-count, but that’s when Gunther took advantage of a referee distraction to deliver a low blow. Powerbomb after chop after kick after chop after chop after powerbomb after chop, AJ refused to give up. But finally, Gunther locked him in his sleeper hold, which finally put Styles, and his career, to rest.

A confused and frustrated AJ awoke to realize he had lost and began to remove his gear to leave in the ring. But at the last moment, he put his gloves back on to salute the crowd and leave us all wondering, is this really it for The Phenomenal One?

Reigns Claims the Royal Rumble Title

Finally, the time arrived for the Men’s Royal Rumble, and boy did it start off hot. Former NXT Champion Oba Femi made an impressive debut at #1, eliminating five others in quick succession. His face-to-face with “The Beast” Brock Lesnar was hyped up by the crowd, but Lesnar took advantage of a distracted Oba to toss arguably his biggest threat from the ring.

One of the best things about the Rumble is the surprises, and boy did we have them, including one of the hottest free agents in the industry, the newly named Royce Keys. In what was already a beefy Rumble, Keys made it even more so when he joined and quickly eliminated former world champion Damien Priest.

History often remembers the winners, so we have to acknowledge our 2026 Men’s Royal Rumble winner, the OTC Roman Reigns. The man who’s been in eight Rumbles and in the final four seven times went through the likes of Logan Paul, The Miz, Jey Uso, Jacob Fatu, and finally Gunther to show why he is and forever will be The Head of the Table.

The Road to WrestleMania has gotten off to a big start! What are you hoping to see along the way to Vegas? Who will write their name in the history books in April? We’ll all have to keep our eyes on the action to find out.
