Considered one of the greatest featherweights of all time, Jose Aldo made history as the last WEC featherweight champion and the first UFC<\/a> featherweight champion when the UFC absorbed its sister company which featured the lightweight, featherweight, and bantamweight classes. Aldo dominated the UFC for years, defending his belt a record seven times. After falling short to Conor McGregor<\/a> and Max Holloway<\/a>, he moved down to bantamweight and contended for the title in 2020 but fell short to Petr Yan<\/a>. Aldo racked up a few more wins in the division, then retired in 2022. He was inducted into the 2023 UFC Hall of Fame, then returned to the Octagon in May of 2024 to add another victory in his win column with an outstanding performance over bantamweight up-and-comer Jonathan Martinez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
