25. 2009-10 Topps Chrome Basketball #110 Jrue Holiday \/999<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Jrue Holiday has quietly put together a stellar career. More of a defensive specialist, he was a catalyst for championship teams in both Milwaukee and Boston. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

24. 1997-98 Topps Chrome Basketball #125 Tracy McGrady<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The ninth overall pick in the 1997 draft, Tracy McGrady skipped college and went right to the NBA. In Toronto, he and Vince Carter were a must-watch duo, taking the Raptors to the playoffs for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

23. 2001-02 Topps Chrome Basketball #131 Pau Gasol<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When Pau Gasol arrived in the NBA, he was already an international star, having been a standout in the Spanish League, EuroLeague and representing Spain in the World Championships. The 2002 NBA Rookie of the Year, Gasol was the first international player to win the award. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first Topps Chrome Basketball set was loaded with rookie cards of four Hall of Famers. Ray Allen might not have a huge Hobby following, but he is one of the best shooting guards the game has ever seen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ninth pick in the 2009 draft, DeMar DeRozan is one of the best and most beloved players in Toronto Raptors history. He ranks in the top 30 among the league\u2019s all-time leading scorers and has made six All-Star appearances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Manu Ginobili spent his entire 16-year NBA career with the San Antonio Spurs, where he was an instrumental part of four championship squads. Similar to Pau Gasol, Ginobili rose to prominence on the international scene before coming to the NBA. A 2001 EuroLeague title is another of his many accolades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

17. 2002-03 Topps Chrome Basketball #146 Yao Ming<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Yao Ming\u2019s NBA career wasn\u2019t a long one, but his importance to the game still reverberates today. Standing 7\u2019 6\u201d tall, the center was the first international player without any time at an American college to be taken first overall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In nine seasons with the Houston Rockets, Ming was an All-Star eight times. Following a series of injuries, he retired after the 2010-11 season. Despite his relatively short time in the league, Ming was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the most electric players to ever step on a basketball court, Vince Carter drew comparisons to Michael Jordan and his ability to take flight. The Toronto Raptors\u2019 first true superstar, Carter rose to prominence in the infancy of the Internet. Had he come along even a couple of years later, his star may have burned even brighter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another cornerstone in San Antonio for four NBA Championships, Tony Parker locked down the backcourt. Overlooked by 27 other teams in the 2001 draft, the Spurs closed out the first round by making a surprise selection, taking the Belgium-born point guard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although he was the 2011 MVP and one of the most beloved players of his generation, many will still be left wondering \u201cWhat if?\u201d for Derrick Rose. A powerhouse early in his career with the Chicago Bulls, he helped the franchise finally look beyond Michael Jordan. But for Rose, his thorn was a series of injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following an MVP season in his third year, Rose missed significant time in 2011-12. Then, in the playoffs, he tore his ACL, causing him to miss all of 2012-13. After that, things were never quite the same. Despite flashes of brilliance with the Knicks and Grizzlies, Rose was never able to reach the same dominating levels he showed early on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fact that Tim Duncan was a superstar really wasn\u2019t a surprise. When the San Antonio Spurs took him first overall in 1997, he entered the NBA with a lot of hype and high expectations. Five championships, a pair of MVP awards, and no shortage of other accolades later, and it\u2019s clear that The Big Fundamental exceeded even the loftiest of those early projections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite all of this, Duncan\u2019s place among basketball card collectors has been polite, but not necessarily transformative. 4. 2007-08 Topps Chrome Basketball #131 Kevin Durant<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Kevin Durant is one of the top scorers in basketball history. If the highlights showing him take over game after game aren\u2019t enough, there are the numbers. He\u2019s already among the top 10 career points leaders. Durant has led the NBA in scoring four times and was named MVP in 2014.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both of Durant\u2019s titles, which came during his time in Golden State, brought with them Finals MVP honors. His 2007-08 Topps Chrome rookie card is a little odd given the Seattle SuperSonics jersey. He was in the Pacific Northwest for one season before the franchise relocated to Oklahoma City. Still, it\u2019s one of the top rookie cards the line has ever produced, and one that might not be done, as Durant approaches and passes more career milestones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. 2003-04 Topps Chrome Basketball #111 LeBron James<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This king had to earn his crown. Even before LeBron James stepped onto an NBA court for his first official game, he was dubbed a lot of things ranging from the next big thing to the next Michael Jordan. Make no mistake, there\u2019s only one LeBron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A four-time NBA Champion, four-time Finals MVP, four-time league MVP, 21-time All-Star, the NBA\u2019s all-time leading scorer \u2014 the list of accomplishments is exhaustive. Make no mistake, LeBron James is one of the greatest of all-time. Hype has no substance. Greatness demands it. James worked for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It shouldn\u2019t come as a surprise that his 2003-04 Topps Chrome rookie is one of the most iconic modern basketball cards. The image comes from the earliest days of James\u2019 pro career. It was taken October 7, 2003 in a preseason game between the Cavs and Pistons. Allen Einstein, Detroit\u2019s team photographer, snapped the shot of a rookie LeBron going for a jump shot against Ben Wallace. The result is a basketball card that\u2019s stunning on its own but tremendously important among collectors today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you want to go strictly by previous auction prices, then the 2009-10 Stephen Curry is the biggest Topps Chrome Basketball rookie card. There are a couple of reasons for this. For starters, there\u2019s Curry himself. The game\u2019s all-time three-point leader, Curry is largely responsible for changing how the game is played today, shifting the action from the inside to the outside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The key piece in Golden State\u2019s dynasty and four NBA Championships, he\u2019s a proven winner as well. MVPs and many other prestigious honors are also attached to Curry\u2019s name. Simply put, he\u2019s an all-time great and one of the very best to step on the court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But these aren\u2019t the only reasons for Curry\u2019s 2009-10 Topps Chrome Basketball rookie card carrying such sharp interest. Rarity is another big one. Numbered to 999, it\u2019s not easy to find. With 2009-10 Chrome cards included in regular Topps Basketball packs instead, landing one was also tough, as they were packaged like inserts and not as a standalone product.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
