Understanding Topps NOW® Premier League Card Rarity

Some Premier League matches bring moments that fans never forget.

This season we’ve seen Rio Ngumoha become Liverpool’s youngest-ever scorer, Viktor Gyökeres’ iconic celebration after scoring his first Arsenal goal, and Nick Woltemade become Newcastle’s new hero after scoring on his debut.

These moments matter to fans.

That’s where Topps NOW® Premier League comes in, turning those highlights into collectible cards, printed in real time and available for a limited period only.

What makes the cards even more exciting, though, is their approach to rarity. Each card’s availability depends entirely on how many collectors choose to order it during its release window — and, for larger print runs, additional rare parallels are introduced as exciting chase opportunities.

Let’s dig in a little further to break down how it works…

How Base Cards Work

Each Topps NOW® Premier League Base Card celebrates a specific moment from the ongoing season — for example, Everton christening Hill Dickinson stadium with their first win there.

These cards are available for a limited time only after the moment occurs. Once that window closes, the print run is finalised based on total orders placed.

That means no reprints, no restocks, and no second chances — each Base Card’s rarity is permanently defined by how many collectors purchased when it dropped.

Numbered Parallel Rarity Explained

Beyond the standard Base Cards, Topps NOW® releases include numbered parallels — rarer versions of the same design featuring distinct colours and finishes.

Each numbered parallel is individually stamped (for example, “15/50”), showing exactly how many copies exist. These cards are randomly distributed (usually after the initial shipping of base cards), creating an additional layer of chase for collectors who enjoy discovering harder-to-find versions of their favourite moments or players.

For a small selection of Topps NOW® Premier League cards, there are also autograph versions, usually available as /1 Autograph Redemption Cards. These ultra-rare inclusions feature authentic player signatures, making them some of the most exclusive cards in the entire Topps NOW® lineup.

Chrome Chase Cards: New for 2025

Starting in 2025, Topps NOW® Premier League introduces Chrome Chase Cards — ultra-rare parallels that appear when a card’s print run reaches specific milestones.

These Chrome and Opal Chrome patterns bring premium finishes and extremely limited numbering to some of the season’s most popular cards.

Here’s how the tiers work:
