The Force is strong in the world of trading cards. A 1/1 Superfractor card from the 2021 Topps Chrome Star Wars Galaxy set has become the most valuable Star Wars trading card ever sold — changing hands for an incredible $100,000 in a private sale.
A Record-Breaking Moment
The card in question is the “Jedi a la Kurosawa” Superfractor, designed by artist Randy Martinez. It showcases seven legendary Jedi from across the Star Wars saga — Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, Aayla Secura, Shaak Ti, Mace Windu, and Kit Fisto.
As a Superfractor 1/1, only one copy of this card exists worldwide, instantly making it one of the most desirable pieces in the hobby. Its unique design and rarity have cemented it as a centrepiece of the 2021 Galaxy Chrome set.
From $16,000 to $100,000
Originally sold for $16,000 when the product first released in 2021, this Superfractor’s new sale price represents a dramatic rise in value. The deal was completed at The National Sports Collectors Convention in Chicago, where Dappz Sports sold the card to Diamond Card Collector.

While reactions in the community have varied, there’s no doubt this Superfractor is a landmark card — and its record-breaking sale highlights the growing popularity of non-sport trading cards.
