The vision started with the base set, the foundation of Mint Disney, where even the smallest details carry meaning. “Adding the Mickey ears within the corners of the base design was a subtle touch and pays homage to Disney,” Eng said.
The motif is simple but effective, grounding the entire product in a familiar symbol of joy and nostalgia. It’s a thoughtful nod that ensures every card feels unmistakably Disney, no matter the character or theme.
Building on that design language, the collection bursts to life with vibrant color palettes, whimsical typography, and creative card treatments that mirror Disney’s storytelling energy. Eng and his team leaned into the brand’s rich visual library to create something that feels both classic and fresh.
“It’s always a fun, nostalgic time for the design team when creating Disney cards,” Eng explained. “Their library of endless colorful characters noticeably pops off the cards.”

With such a vast universe of characters — from Mickey Mouse and Cinderella to Elsa and Buzz Lightyear — creating a cohesive design language was a key challenge. That meant developing a consistent visual tone that honored each era and art style while maintaining a unified identity across the set. “It’s an additional bonus for us and an amazing collective feeling seeing it prominently highlighted at an iconic event like Comic Con,” Eng reflected. Ultimately, he hopes that collectors see more than just cards and experience the magic of Disney from a new angle.
“We hope collectors enjoy this fun, vibrant, eye-engaging product and bring growing eyes to the trading card industry,” he says. “The Disney characters really come to life in this Mint set from a different perspective. They’re showcased in different thematic designs that allow them to be highly collectible while bringing back fond memories.”
