Topps and Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack joined forces for a one-of-a-kind collaboration: the Topps Chrome Cosmic X Cactus Jack collection. This exclusive Fanatics Fest NYC release showcases 49 of the top MLB players, plus a card of Scott himself.

Scott is a groundbreaking music and entertainment figure known for his genre-defying sound and electrifying live performances. His influence extends beyond music into fashion, art, and pop culture, making him a multifaceted creative force. Scott’s ability to connect with his audience through his unique blend of hip-hop, psychedelic melodies, and trap music and his visionary approach to branding has solidified his status as a global icon. His collaborations, including the Fanatics Fest Topps Chrome Cosmic x Cactus Jack exclusive, reflect his far-reaching influence on youth culture.

A True Collaboration

Art Director of Special Projects Matthew Gilsenan shared insights into the unique experience of working on the Travis Scott collection.

“We kicked designs back and forth with Travis and his team until we got to a final product that everyone was excited about,” he said. Gilsenan emphasized that both sides were deeply involved in the creative process, leading to a product representing Scott’s vision.

Gilsenan, who typically designs for athletes or personalities through leagues or companies, found this project unique. “Co-branded projects offer a significant opportunity to learn from different creatives; working with people outside your usual circle can help transform your thinking and push you out of your comfort zone.” But it was the extent of the collaboration with Scott that “made this a first-of-kind project” for Gilsenan.

His favorite design elements in the set include the “molten metal textures, which look wild when printed on Chrome, with all the different parallels.” He notes the overall design has a “Y2K, almost space-wasteland look” that aligns perfectly with the Cactus Jack aesthetic. According to Gilsenan, the standout card in the collection features an image of Scott “fully in his element,” making it a must-have for his fans.

A Fanatics Fest Exclusive

Each box contains two packs of four cards, including two parallels numbered to 25 or less. Collectors can chase rare cards featuring stars like Elly De La Cruz, Paul Skenes, Aaron Judge, and Scott himself.

With only a limited number of boxes available, Fanatics Fest NYC is the sole place for fans to obtain this unique product. Fans were able to enter to win the opportunity to purchase the FFNYC Exclusive by 11:59 PM ET on Monday, August 12. The product will be distributed on Saturday, August 17, at the Topps booth at the Javits Center, where the three-day festival is being held.

Fanatics Fest is a first-of-its-kind event that will bring together fans of all sports under one roof. There will be panels where the biggest stars in sports will have candid conversations with one another, a Collector’s Zone, immersive exhibits, a memorabilia museum, and photo and autograph zones for fans to interact with their heroes.
