Series 1 Autos to Collect
Autos! Autos! Autos! We treat them like golden tickets and spend much of our collecting experience digging through packs for a sniff of a precious autograph. Any collector would agree. There’s nothing like a cherished piece of cardboard with your favorite athlete’s signature penned across it. It doesn’t even have to be your favorite athlete. It could be someone of note that you covet collecting or the start of your auto-seeking experience. Whether it’s a keepsake or an eventual marketplace play, autos make The Hobby go round, adding nitrous to cards and increasing their value. In 2024 Topps Series 1, autos sit aplenty. From rookies with star potential to veterans with all but solidified Hall of Fame resumes and legends whose accomplishments are immortalized in Cooperstown, Series 1 has autos from a variety of America’s Pastime’s finest. So, let’s explore some of the top autos from 2024 Topps Series 1.
Top 2024 Series 1 Autos to Collect
2024 Topps Series 1 1989 #89B-70 Mike Trout Auto
Topps Baseball celebrates its 35th year of its 1989 design in 2024. So, of course, its flagship product proudly sports an insert throwing it back to their classic ’89 base set. Alongside the base set, collectors can snag on-card autos, including this one featuring the walking Hall of Famer Mike Trout. With three AL MVP awards and a guaranteed spot in Cooperstown, any autograph with Trout’s name is pure gold.
2024 Topps Series 1 #TRAP-SO Shohei Ohtani Auto Patch /10
In hobby and hobby jumbo packs, collectors can find the #TRAP-SO Shohei Ohtani Auto Patch card, a prized possession limited to just 10 copies in its base version and part of the Topps Reverence series. These cards feature on-card signatures paired with patch swatches, adding to their allure. Additional parallels are available in Red (/5) and Platinum (1/1). This card holds added significance as Ohtani’s final Topps Reverence Auto Patch with the Angels, as he now plays for the Dodgers. Notably, Ohtani, like his former Angels teammate Trout, is a multi-time MVP on his way to Club Cooperstown. Leave no Ohtani cards behind!
2024 Topps Series 1 #SBA-AR Adley Rutschman Auto
Hail to Rutschman, a first-time All-Star and one of the hottest players to collect in 2023. His cards are some of the most sought-after on the market, and this auto should be no different. The Superstar Blueprint series, featuring Rutschman, offers autographs with parallels including Blue, Black (/299), Gold (/75), Red (/10), and Platinum (1/1). That said, some Superstar Blueprint cards feature autographs numbered to 25 or fewer. Be on the lookout!
2024 Topps Series 1 #CSR-BR Babe Ruth Auto 1/1
There are 46 cut signatures featuring legendary players in 2024 Topps Series 1. One of them being “The Babe.” Before Shohei Ohtani wowed the world with his ability as both a pitcher and hitter, Ruth showcased his arm (for 10 of his 22 seasons) and legendary bat for both the Red Sox and Yankees. While posting 714 roundtrips — second all-time, Ruth stuck out 488 batters and racked up 94 wins on the mound. His case for G.O.A.T. is quite compelling.
PS: Each card from this insert is a 1 of 1. These are must haves.
2024 Topps Series 1 #CSR-HWA Honus Wagner Auto 1/1
Like the Babe Ruth card previously listed, the 2024 Topps Series 1 #CSR-HWA Honus Wagner is one of the 46 cut signatures and a 1 of 1. Considered one of the best players of his era, Wagner, a Hall of Famer, retired with eight NL batting titles, five NL RBI titles and five NL stolen base titles. How’s that for a quality resume?
