What’s better than a nice 1951 Bowman Mickey Mantle rookie card?

A nice 1951 Bowman Mickey Mantle signed by the legend himself, of course.

PSA has authenticated and slabbed just 30 autographed Mantle rookies, and one is up for auction now at Goldin.

Part of its Goldin 100 auction, the card is graded 1.5 with a Mint 10 autograph in blue Sharpie.

“In an era when autographed cards aren’t yet a thing, fans had to get their cards signed in person,” Goldin founder Ken Goldin said in a video posted on X (formerly Twitter). “So, every signed Mantle card from this era is an especially rare find.”

According to Goldin’s website, the aforementioned population data surely indicates that a signed 1951 Bowman Mantle rookie is extremely undervalued versus its unsigned brethren.

“This particular offering just happened to be a basement ‘shoebox find’ in a small Connecticut town some six years ago, and as previously stated, reveals what we consider to be the largest and most formidable Mickey Mantle script we have ever seen on any Mantle mainstream card, let alone his legendary rookie subject,” the website states.

As of noon EST on Aug. 7, this Mantle card’s current price was at $100,400 with the buyer’s premium. This card and the other 99 pieces available in the Goldin 100 are open for bidding until Aug. 17 at 9 p.m. EST.
