Phoenix-Area Shop Prepares for a Huge Hobby Event

On Saturday, February 21, Hobby shops all over the world will be celebrating The Biggest Night in The Hobby as 2026 Topps Rip Night goes full volume. While each participating shop will be bringing its own flavor to the event, expect giveaways, deals, trade time, pack wars, and plenty of ripping.

In Arizona, DNA Cards & Collectibles is ringing in Rip Night with parties in Peoria and Phoenix — an occasion fit for a Hobby shop that truly has something for any collector. As the LCS gets ready for the big day, Topps RIPPED spoke with DNA owner Adam to learn about the shop and the excitement DNA is bringing to 2026 Topps Rip Night.

DNA has served the Phoenix community for over three years. Six months ago, DNA expanded, opening a huge new location in Peoria — about a half-hour drive from the original location. “From day one, our mission has been to create a welcoming, knowledgeable, and integrity-driven environment for collectors of all experience levels,” Adam explained.

The space itself is a shrine to The Hobby, with a ton of room for cards, a spectacular Wall of Wax, a massive trade space, and a claw game to go hunting for packs. But that’s not all: DNA also features a full-scale set of batting cages. On top of that, the shop houses a cafe for customers.

“We want to make this a unique space for The Hobby,” Adam said.

Helping add a special flavor is the location itself. Right behind DNA is the Peoria Sports Complex, where the San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners play during Spring Training, allowing DNA to bring The Hobby and the sport of baseball as close together as ever.

The Story of DNA

“My own journey began with collecting as a child,” Adam explained. “Years later, when my son became interested at four or five years old, it reignited my passion. I started opening packs again, and I haven’t stopped since. Today, some of my favorite Topps products include Pristine for baseball and Midnight for basketball.”

DNA specializes in all major sports cards, and several trading card games. They strive to have team members who specialize in specific areas of The Hobby, ensuring that every customer receives informed guidance and support.

“Our goal is to operate the cleanest, friendliest shop possible while upholding the highest standards of integrity,” Adam said. “We are passionate about growing The Hobby and continuously work to introduce new collectors to the excitement of trading cards.”

Bringing a Big Rip Night to Phoenix and Peoria

Both locations will be running events on 2026 Topps Rip Night. Adam detailed what customers can look forward to:

“Our Topps Rip Night is designed to be more than just a pack-opening event — it’s a full community celebration. We’re planning an exciting evening that includes a live DJ, a photo booth, a food truck, and numerous giveaways throughout the event. We also provide coloring sheets and family-friendly activities to ensure collectors of all ages feel included.”

Above all, it’s about the community — and, of course, the cards. “One of our biggest priorities is making sure everyone gets the opportunity to rip something that night through our giveaways,” Adam said. “Whether you’re a seasoned collector or brand new to The Hobby, we want you to leave with something memorable.”

“We are thrilled to welcome an incredible lineup of special guests, including Mike Trout, Justin Steele, Jac Caglianone, Trevor Hoffman, and several other MLB players,” Adam said.

It’s another exciting way for DNA to help collectors of all ages make memories on Rip Night. “Having the opportunity to meet and interact with professional athletes adds a truly special element to the evening and makes it an unforgettable experience for our community.”

“Come ready to have fun and ask questions. The Hobby is about community, learning, and enjoying the thrill of the rip. Our team and fellow collectors are always happy to help guide you, share knowledge, and make you feel comfortable — no matter your experience level. We always say there are no dumb questions. If you don’t ask, you can’t learn.

“You can expect an energetic, welcoming atmosphere filled with excitement. You’ll have the opportunity to open packs, connect with fellow collectors, and potentially meet pro athletes.”
