Bryce Harper embodies the spirit of the City of Brotherly Love—a unique blend of gritty determination and modern-day charisma akin to a classic Mitchell & Ness throwback jersey. This city, renowned for its passionate sports culture, has witnessed the rise of legends, from Allen Iverson’s electrifying crossovers to the indomitable spirit of Jalen Hurts and the Eagles. Harper, alongside the Phillies, etched his name into this storied sporting tapestry by helping Philly’s baseball team reach the World Series in 2022. This season, Harper and the boys are one win away from returning to the promised land. As he continues to shine and drive up the price on his memorabilia, we wanted to rank “Mondo’s” best rookie cards and more according to value, exclusivity, and creativity.
Bryce Harper RCs and More #s 5-1
5: 2012 Topps Triple Threads #129 Bryce Harper RC Auto Triple Mem /99
Which set was the only one to feature a 2012 Bryce Harper Rookie Base card? Lol, the answer is obvious. But the 2012 Topps Triple Threads #129 Bryce Harper RC Auto Triple Mem /99. Now, this card features three relic pieces, an on-card auto and only has 99 in production. A must cop for any serious “Mondo” collector.
4: 2023 MLB TOPPS NOW® #9992 Bryce Harper Game-Used Base Relic /99
In the famous words of the legendary Deion Sanders, the Braves — Sanders’ former team — “done messed around and found out.” After a trash-talk-filled, so-so Game 2 by his standards in the 2023 ALDS against the Braves, Harper walked into the stadium with a shirt featuring the man known as Primetime and exacted revenge. He crushed two homers, stared down his adversaries and led the Phillies to a 7-1 win and, eventually, the series win. Topps commemorated the moment with a Topps Now card featuring a game relic numbered to 99, which swiftly sold out online.
3: 2023 MLB TOPPS NOW® #860 Bryce Harper Game-used Base Relic /99
Against Atlanta on Sept. 12, 2023, Harper went 2-3 with a homer and an RBI. His success at the plate launched him into legendary status, as he became the sixth active player with at least 300 dingers and 1,500 RBIs in his first 12 seasons. So, of course, Topps had to take advantage of the moment, turning it into a card numbered to 99 and placing a game-used relic promptly next to the image of Harper. Well played.
2: 2012 Topps Archives #241 Bryce Harper RC
A late-addition to the 2012 Topps Archive product, the #241 Bryce Harper RC spawned inspiration from the 1984 Topps Baseball design and is known as the Las Vegas native’s first official rookie card available in packs following his MLB debut. Need we say more? This is a special, special card.
1: 2012 Topps Bryce Harper #661 RC
A late-addition to 2012 Topps Series 2, the #661 Bryce Harper RC is by far and away Harper’s most valuable card. It’s not his first available in packs, like the one listed above, but the mystique is definitely there. A fitting No. 1 for one of baseball’s coolest players.
